John Morris Scientific introduces two new high performance benchtop
freeze dryers for laboratory applications.
The new Christ benchtop freeze dryers Epsilon 1-4 LSCplus and Epsilon
2-4 LSCplus are universal laboratory and pilot systems designed for
lyophilisation of solid or liquid products in ampoules, vials, glass flasks,
plasma bottles or dishes.
Setting the benchmark for excellent quality and performance, Epsilon 1-4
LSCplus and Epsilon 2-4 LSCplus share a geometrical likeness with large
production machines and use similar temperature-controlling systems.
The two new Christ benchtop freeze dryers are recommended for pre-freezing
products on temperature-controlled shelves; freeze drying (sublimation) of
products according to preselected time, temperature and pressure profiles; and
final drying of products. The new freeze dryers are ideal for extremely
sensitive pharmaceutical and biotech products such as amorphous structures with
a low glass transition point.
Key features of the Epsilon 1-4 LSCplus and Epsilon 2-4 LSCplus benchtop
freeze dryers include internal ice condenser temperature with a minimum of
-55¡C and -85¡C respectively; one shelf with 0.11m_ useable surface area; new
cooling techniques allowing shelf temperatures of -45¡C or -70¡C (pre-freezing);
simple, process-specific documentation possible on all systems using the
LSCplus Lyo-Screen-Control and LyoLogplus interface; optional Windows-based
LPCplus software for PC-based process control and documentation.
LPCplus is widely used in typical pilot freeze dryers up to large-scale
production systems and follows GAMP and cGMP guidelines.
