Metromatics releases rugged embedded computers

The ARCX box from Acromag is a customisable off-the-shelf embedded
computer featuring a rugged small form factor designed specifically for
military/aerospace systems.

Acromag’s embedded computers come with unique expandable features including
PMC, XMC, mini PCIe, mSATA module slots, optional solid-state drive, front I/O
panel, and secondary connectors.

Engineered rugged with Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) to address the space
requirements of vehicle electronics, the SFF embedded computer is compatible
with industry standards, manufactured to IP67 standards, and shock and
vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G.

The ARCX embedded computer is truly an off-the-shelf SWaP solution
that features customisable expansion, all with low power and a compact
size.

Key features of the SFF embedded computers include choice of single
PMC/XMC slot or double PMC/XMC slot versions; high-performance Intel 4th
generation Core i7 CPU; CPU allowing programmable power limits, where heat/
power is a concern; rugged design with thick circuit boards, high shock and
vibration SODIMM hold-down mechanism, and heat sink; and fanless design with no
cable required.

The ARCX box from Acromag is designed for military/aerospace
deployable systems such as payload management, and command and control
applications.

Valuing the use of industry standards such as PMC/XMC, mSATA and mPCIe, Acromag
has now added lockable, easily-removed storage capability using SSD devices
readily available on the open market to their ARCX solutions. This provides users
with a platform that offers optimal flexibility to assemble the system they need.
