Elecom releases new Bluetooth 4.0 single mode module based on flexible multiprotocol SoC

Elecom Electronics Supply announces the availability of the new Bluetooth
4.0 BLE solution, GWBMD0x.

The GWBMD0x is a low cost Bluetooth 4.0 single mode module based on the
nRF51822 BLE protocol processor from Nordic Semiconductor. The nRF51822 is
a powerful, highly flexible multiprotocol SoC ideally suited for Bluetooth
Smart (previously called Bluetooth Low Energy) and 2.4GHz ultra low-power
wireless applications. The nRF51822 is built around a 32-bit ARM
Cortex M0 CPU with 256kB/128kB flash + 32kB/16kB RAM.

The GWBMD0x is a ready RF designed module with almost full function as the
Nordic nRF51822 chipset. The programming flexibility in nRF51822 allows the 12
GPIOs in GWBMD0x to be programmed as serial interfaces, PWM, analogue, DIO, I2C,
SPI etc. This enables complete design flexibility associated with pin-out
location and function, creating an ideal module platform for customers seeking
to use nRF51822 as their design solution.

The FCC qualified GWBMD0x module with embedded antenna maximises
performance with 95dB link budget compatible with Nordic SDK and their iBeacon
reference design, which provides an open and flexible development platform for users
to integrate their applications in iOS or Android devices.
