Bestech releases new pressure transmitters for hazardous locations

Bestech Australia has introduced a new range of 4-20mA pressure
transmitters featuring SIL2 certification for use in hazardous locations
including explosion-proof, intrinsically safe and non-incendive areas. The SIL
(Safety Integrity Level) certification was conducted through Exida and meets
IEC 61508 standards.

Traditionally used in the downstream oil and gas and chemical process
industries, SIL2 devices are seeing greater use in upstream applications to meet
safety and reliability requirements.

A suffix is added to the end of Bestech’s models requiring the
certification. For standard hazardous location ratings and SIL2, the suffix is ‘-SL’;
for customers requiring SIL2 and ASME B31.3, the suffix will be ‘-Y’.

Bestech can be contacted for more information on
SIL2 rated sensors, IECEx certified pressure transducers or product
configurations.
