Backplane Systems Technology releases Avalue EMS-CDV-Marine embedded system for maritime applications

Backplane Systems Technology announces the release of Avalue Technology’s
EMS-CDV-Marine IEC EN60945 certified marine embedded systems for maritime

Suited for applications such as control rooms, integrated bridge
systems, propulsion control and safety systems, this rugged PC is designed for high
reliability and low maintenance. The EMS-CDV-Marine is a powerful and versatile
embedded system featuring a range of graphics, I/O extension flexibility and
robust designs to provide configurability in various maritime applications.

Key features of the EMS-CDV-Marine embedded systems include on-board
Intel Atom D2550 1.86GHz CPU to provide low power consumption; 6x COM (4x COM
w/2.5KV isolated protection), 2x PCIe slots, plus 5x USB ports allowing
flexible expansion; 12-bit GPIO connector enabling users to define and connect
various devices to fit applications easily; and front access swappable hard
drive and SIM card slot providing ease of operation and convenience.

Avalue’s EMS-CDV-Marine follows marine standards and is IEC EN609445 certified
to meet the environmental specifications of maritime applications. Designed to
operate continuously under critical conditions, including shock, vibration,
wide temperatures and wide power input, the system is IEC EN609445 certified to
withstand high humidity and strong sunshine and also provides high resistance to
oil and corrosion.

The slim and compact design of the EMS-CDV-Marine allows easy
installation into space-constrained ships and boats. The aluminium extrusion
and heavy-duty steel chassis protects the internal electronic system. The compact
system also features fanless operation increasing stability and durability, and
is able to smoothly function under harsh temperature conditions from -10¡C to +60¡C.

The EMS-CDV-Marine rugged PC also accepts wide range power input from
+10V ~ +27.5V (-10/+30%) to deal with the possibility of power instability and
increase installation flexibility. The system comes with mounting brackets for
easy installation.

Requiring very little maintenance, the EMS-CDV-Marine
rugged PC features minimal moving parts, an onboard CPU, plus a fanless and
cable-less design, enabling the system to provide exceptional reliability and
simplify maintenance procedures. The front accessible hard disk and SIM card
slot additionally deliver maintenance and upgrade convenience.
