Backplane Systems Technology releases 16-port PoE+ fanless surveillance system with 4 built-in RAID drives

Backplane Systems Technology has released a new surveillance platform
that integrates 16 PoE+ ports, an i7 CPU and RAID storage in a compact, fanless
chassis.

Designed to meet the requirements of a stationary or mobile surveillance
system, the new Nuvo-3616VR is capable of video recording as well as high-end
video analytics. A typical surveillance system uses an NVR to connect IP
cameras and record video streams on its disk array. Similar to an NVR, the Nuvo-3616VR
features 16 PoE+ ports and a built-in disk array for video recording. Each of
its 802.3at PoE+ ports can supply 25.5W to power a bullet, dome or PTZ camera. Since
electrical power is passed along with data on a single CAT5/6 cable, the Nuvo-3616VR
significantly reduces the cost of deployment for a surveillance system
supporting up to 16 cameras.

Key features of the Nuvo-3616VR fanless surveillance
system also include four built-in drives with a RAID 0/1/5/10 storage system
offering up to 1GB/s disk access and 8TB capacity; two of four drives installed
with easy-swap HDD trays for simple HDD/SSD replacement in seconds; quad-core
i7 CPU delivering extraordinary computing performance to facilitate advanced
video analytics algorithms; proven fanless architecture ensuring true
wide-temperature operation; and 8~35V wide-range DC input and ignition control supporting
both stationary and in-vehicle applications.
