Advanced avionics COTS system from Metromatics

Acromag and Alta Data Technologies (Alta) have partnered to introduce a
new product that provides unparalleled performance and configuration
flexibility for rugged avionics systems. Acromag’s ARCX embedded computer and Alta’s
avionics interface cards are leveraging advances in rugged, modular systems to offer
excellent value and flexibility in defence applications.

Featuring a customisable-off-the-shelf (COTS) Intel i7 with one or two
PMC/XMC expansion sites, the ARCX embedded computer has a rugged, small
form factor box designed to meet IP67 standards for a dependable, sealed,

Key features of the rugged ARCX system include 4th Generation Intel Core
CPU and single or double PMC/XMC sites and 38999 connectors; and SWaP-optimised
for military/aerospace deployable systems such as vetronics, C4ISR, payload
management, and command and control for drones and robotics.

When combined with Alta’s proven 1553 or ARINC interface cards and
Acromag’s large PMC/XMC, the combined product offers numerous configuration
options using COTS solutions. For example, an ARCX i7 Quad Core system with
Alta’s MIL-STD-1553 or ARINC PMC cards and advanced FPGA PMC provides unmatched
system capabilities for DSP, video and avionics system capabilities.

When Alta’s PMC/XMC MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC products
are combined with Acromag’s huge standard I/O and FPGA processing cards, the user
has almost unlimited I/O and processing expansion options in the smallest
possible footprint.

Alta can provide 1-20 1553 channels and 4-60 ARINC channels in a single,
small rugged computer with quad core i7 performance, creating a market-leading
