Acromag’s new AcroPack I/O Platform adds a reconfigurable Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA for custom computing applications

Acromag’s new APA7-200 series provides a user-customisable FPGA on an AcroPack mezzanine module.

The module plugs into a connector on an AcroPack carrier to add up to 48 TTL or 24 EIA-485/422 I/O signals or a mix of both types. Mix and match I/O combinations in a single slot for embedded applications running on Linux, Windows, or VxWorks operating systems. 

The APA7-200 offers a wide operating range of -40 to 85C. Reconfiguration of the FPGA is possible via a direct download into the Flash configuration memory over the PCIe bus. The on-board 32Mb Quad Serial Flash memory loaded with configuration data allows automatic configuration of the FPGA on power-up.

The APA-200 series provides a FPGA based user-configurable bridge between a host processor and a custom digital interface via PCI Express. These boards feature a best in class Artix-7 interface to deliver the industry’s lowest power and high performance.

Designed for COTS applications these FGPA based digital I/O modules deliver user-customisable I/O, high-density, high-reliability, and high-performance.

The APA7-200 series modules are 70mm long, 19.05mm longer than the full length mini PCIe card. 30mm width is the same as mPCIe board, and they use the same mCPIe standard board hold down standoff and screw keep out areas.

Designed for COTS applications the AcroPacks are ROHS compliant and ideal for scientific development labs, military and aerospace applications, the defence industry, and automation applications.
