Turnkey conveyor installations
MACHINE integration and the capacity to supply complete lines has increased in importance during recent years, as food manufacturers are demanding customised materials handling systems that include robots, palletisers and other devices.
FlexLink Systems has worked with machine builders in supplying entire logistics infrastructures for two leading food companies in the Netherlands, Milk Control Station (MCS) and Droste B.V.
MCS is an advanced technology operation for quality control of milk and herd improvement samples for the dairy industry. FlexLink helped the company set up its new laboratory and installed a comprehensive robot handling system to convey the samples through inspection and into storage.
The robots are integrated with a stainless steel hygienic conveyor system, which has an open design to reduce liquid build up on the conveyor during production and improve accessibility for cleaning.
“We selected FlexLink because the conveyors are modular and easy to clean,” says MCS project leader Van Hemet.
“We also received value by the combination of robots with the conveyor system.”
Chocolate manufacturer Droste B.V also requested a system that incorporated more than just a conveyor.
FlexLink supplied a turnkey assembly and packaging line consisting of robots, tooling, single and twin track pallet conveyors and an overall control system, replacing a manual packaging process.
The payback period for the customer’s investment was 18 months.
