Turbo power for Kubota 8 ton excavator

Last October Kubota Tractor Australia released the KX080 (8280KG) tight tail swing excavator powered by the V3800 (3.8ltr) Kubota diesel engine, generating 9.6kw/66.5hp0@2000rpm.

With seven months in the field the response to the KX080 from owners and operators has far exceeded Kubota’s expectations.

Falling in line with world markets Kubota has upgraded the KX080 excavator as of May 2008 with interim “T4” technology to comply with USA EPA regulations to enhance Kubota’s standing within the market for performance, reliability, durability.

The KX080 now has the added boost of “Turbo Power” as well as “Clean Power” derived from the T4 upgrade, which brings the KX080 in line with all other Kubota’s excavator models.

The new V3307-T (3.3 litre) Interim T4 Turbo Powered Diesel Engine generates an impressive 52.2kw/70Hp@2000rpm powering the KX080 effortlessly. Complete with Auto Idle the KX080 delivers improved performance, low sound levels and excellent fuel economy for greater productivity and revenue.

“The T4 engine provides the KX080 with a source of smooth effortless power on demand and is incredibly responsive. It takes the KX080 to new level of performance allowing it to manage applications which would normally be undertaken by a larger machine” said Warren Green, Kubota’s Technical Support Supervisor for construction equipment.

The KX080 is a productive machine with features such as:

  • superior bucket break out force (6650kgf) for its class
  • large swivel bearing for extra stability and strength
  • maximum digging depth of 4600mm and 7330mm of dig reach
  • deluxe cabin layout with air conditioning and high back suspension seat
  • fast cycle time
