Titanic strength with tender touch
PALLETISING grippers made by the same company that engineered the elastomer bags used to lift sections of the Titanic from the ocean floor are being introduced to Australia by Air Springs Supply.
The Pronal palletising and depalletising grippers - made from hot vulcanised elastomer coated fabric - are used by the glass industry for handling bottles, says Air Springs Supply managing director Andrew Cameron.
Made from the same family of thin but tough elastomers used to float Titanic artifacts from 4,000 metres below the Atlantic, the palletisers include standard sizes of 1320 or 1460mm and custom-fabricated alternative sizes.
Some complex-shaped bottles or flasks can be palletised with short neck MCC or MLC models, while Pronal's tailor-made U-shape range is more especially adapted to the latest generation of bottles, Mr Cameron said.
"These are ingenious and durable world-class products suitable for the toughest manufacturing environments, where they provide high reliability coupled with delicate materials handling appropriate to the products being handled."
The Pronal range complements Air Spring Supply's Airstroke and Airmount pneumatic actuator and isolator ranges, which are widely used throughout Australia. Air Springs Supply 02 9807 4077.
