IN grass roots style, Teavolution ’s innovative real leaf iced tea was launched less than a year ago and gained traction quickly in the fastest growing category in the beverage market.
“It’s the first and only iced tea to be brewed with real tea, and has no added sugars at all, so we’re very proud to see its growth,” Teavolution’s Anabel Young told FOOD Magazine after accepting the Award.
Packaged in a glass wine bottle with steel screw cap, the iced tea appeals to the high end of the beverage market, and its packaging was scored well by judges.
“We wanted to really stand out as a premium healthy beverage, just to raise the bar and say, okay, here’s what a premium iced tea should look, and taste like.”
2006 judge, and Centre for Design at RMIT research consultant, Helen Lewis said the attractively packed product was appealing.
“The innovative use of real tea without sugar will appeal to the health-conscious consumer, while the glass packaging will appeal to the environment-conscious.”
