WHEN it comes to materials strength testing, it is the subtle differences, and the material specific characteristics that are critical. These differences can often be best discriminated only by customisation of the test methods.
Ondio from Lloyds is the software that lets users customise and store test methods easily and reliably. Ondio is used in conjunction with Lloyds Nexygen software to give total control of testing methods.
Ondio allows the user to create totally customised tests. The range of standard tests can be enhanced to include multiple stages, cycle tests, tests with load rate and load holding stages and user defined test results calculations.
Ondio is based around a version of the widely used Visual Basic scripting language, which requires no prior knowledge of programming.
First time users of Ondio can turn to the four built in starting points for different types of common test: a multistage test, a creep test, cycling for a fixed time period and cycling for a fixed number of cycles.
Advanced users can simply either write their own tests or add text to existing methods.
Ondio provides equally sophisticated analysis and evaluation of data. The graphical results can be interrogated to extract further subtle information from a test using such techniques as steepest slope detection.
"Markers" can be used to reveal the value at a turning point on a curve, both in real time and after the test. Demonstration copies of the software are available. Technical and Scientific Equipment 03 9886 9055.
