Sullair Australia celebrates one-year anniversary

Leading international compressor technology group, Sullair, recently celebrated the first anniversary of the establishment of its Australian manufacturing facility. The youngest member of the company’s global network of compressor manufacturing facilities, Sullair Australia services the domestic and Middle Eastern markets. Sullair Australia complements the company’s US, China and France operations, providing a truly international compressed air solution.

Established in June, 2006 and located in Hallam, Victoria, Sullair Australia manufactures rotary screw compressors, designed and engineered with the superior reliability and performance required for continuous operation in the hot, humid and dusty conditions experienced throughout Australia.

Sullair Australia’s local manufacturing facility provides Australian industry premium access to the company’s range of products and services, backed by its global experience and know-how. With a comprehensive stock of spare parts, Sullair Australia ensures the Australian compressed air market receives efficient technical and commercial assistance. With its Australian manufacturing facility complementing its expansive range of products, Sullair Australia provides tailored compressed air solutions to Australian users in short lead-times.

The Sullair brand is no stranger to the Australian compressed air market, having established a strong presence in the mining, exploration drilling, construction and general manufacturing sectors over the past three decades. Until the establishment of the Australian manufacturing facility, the company had been exporting compressors from its overseas facilities, modified to suit Australian conditions.

According to Sullair Australia Design Engineer, Simon Mullins, the reliability of Sullair products has become legendary within Australia’s heavy industrial sectors, with many of the units imported in the 1970s still running today. “Our strategic edge is that we understand the demanding requirements of the hot harsh environments experienced by our local Australian industry, so we’re the best placed to provide customised compressed air solutions,” said Mullins. “Our strong reputation and knowing that we possess the most suitable product for this environment, spurred us to commence producing locally-made units.”

While different international markets impose varying demands on compressor design and performance, the requirements of the Australian markets are quite unique. “Australian compressed air users expect low noise, compliance with high safety and environmental standards, and the ability to operate trouble-free in dusty and hot environments,” said Mullins. “Sullair recognises the world has a vast array of operating environments. The company’s global experience, coupled with its extensive local knowledge enable us to deliver world-class compressed air solutions, tailored to the application and environment.”
