The S-VECO high brush speed from Schaefer Brush Manufacturing Co creates centrifugal force which, combined with the opening of the brush pattern as it passes around the sheaves, helps the brush throw off all refuse or particulate it has swept across the object being cleaned.
This is claimed to be the only true self-cleaning brush and does not re-deposit particulate. In addition, the S-VECO is a linear transverse cleaner, sweeping across the conveyor belt to eliminate carry-back.
The fibre of the S-VECO brushes can be selected to meet the application without damage to conveyor belting or to the object being cleaned. The tufts of fibre are hand sewn into the standard B or D section rubber V-belts to minimise tuft loss in high-speed operation. The brushing action sweeps across any belt splices, rather than into them so, it is claimed, there is no damage done to the splice or to the brush.
Standard units of the various models are equipped with mounting brackets that help hanging the machine from conveyor rails or other mounting points. Other mounting methods, such as floor stands, are also available.
Elevating screws provide quick adjustment of the brush pressure. Manual or electronic lift jacks can be substituted at additional cost.
Electronic controls for brush speed, for lifting or lowering of the unit and other functions are available.
A series of idler sheaves between the drive and non-drive brush sheaves are adjustable to ensure constant brush contact.
Brush replacement or tensioning is achieved by adjusting the inbound or outbound brush-tensioning device. Brush change out on most units takes only a matter of minutes. All units are equipped with sealed bearings.
