A NEW screwbolt from eliminates adhesive waste while offering faster pad preparation and top-plate tiedown.
Designed specifically for builders of timber and steel framed houses, the Powers TRDAC1 2100 coupler/screwbolt has a patented thread which undercuts the concrete for ultimate load-bearing strength.
A threaded rod is then screwed directly into the top of the coupler/screwbolt.
Early reports from major users are that the TRDAC1 2100 delivers several savings including reduced inventory, labour savings, faster fitting and faster concrete levelling without the need for fiddly detail work around J-bars.
The wastage and waiting involved with adhesive systems is also prevented.
The screwbolts are rated for cyclone-prone areas with an uplift capacity of at least 10kN which exceeds the breaking point of the timber.
They may be placed as near as 35mm to the edge of the concrete pad.
