Regulation system monitors hydrocone crushers
Sandvik Rock Processing will launch a new “intelligent” regulation system for monitoring its hydrocone in Australia later this year.
ASRi is designed to provide operators with useful information on a crusher’s operating conditions (past and present), helping them manage crushing equipment efficiently.
Said to be user-friendly, the regulator is operated from a colour touch screen that allows the user to control precisely which, and how many, functions he or she wants to activate. This means the system can be configured to accurately match the sophistication of the user and the degree of complexity in the plant.
ASRi features a more advanced sensor to measure the pressure at which the crusher operates; a simplified calibration function; capacity to store up 20 different crushing programs; and easy access to more accurate information.
Sandvik says ASRi readily communicates with other systems, be it a higher-level system, another ASRi system, or an ASR Plus. This easy connectivity means plant operators can rapidly transfer attention between different crushers and get a clear, quick overview of the whole operation.
An advanced feature of ASRi is its “Process Optimization Tool” that, although built into the regulator, can be used without interfering in the crusher’s normal operations. The user keys product data into the POT – obtained from samples and laboratory testing – and the tool presents that information back in different forms. For example, it could help predict what product curves and product qualities will be obtained at different crusher settings, study the effect of a setting setpoint change, or anticipate the consequences of switching between different feed materials.
ASRi will be launched in Australia later this year.
