Quadrem CTO to speak at seminar

Ian Hollingworth, CTO of Quadrem U.S, who will be heading up Quadrem Australia, will be speaking at a free seminar at the Smart Supply Chain Technology Show in Brisbane on June 1.

Ian established and led Quadrem's technology organisation, creating the only global marketplace platform transacting across developed and developing world environments, able to simultaneously accommodate high volumes of secure transactions as well as diverse cultural and geographical requirements.

Ian has returned to head up Quadrem Australia which has grown by 200% in the last year and is looking to expand into broader vertical markets. With a membership growth of 37% and throughout 235% in 2004 Quadrem Australia is expanding its presence in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.

Growth statistics for Australia from 2003 to 2004 are:

* 37% increase in number of transacting suppliers

* 146% increase in the number of orders processed

* 235% increase in throughput

* Australasia 2004 throughput was 23% of Quadrem's global total

* Australasia's orders processed was 20% of Quadrem global total

Ian was one of the pioneers in Quadrem U.S and was the person responsible for building the technology and commerce platform. He realised early on that Commerce1 would not serve the purpose and was single-handedly responsible for building the Quadrem proprietary.

He joined Quadrem during its start-up phase in 2000 and he brought with him ebusiness experience from WMC Limited in Perth, Australia.

Before joining WMC, Ian acquired more than 15 years of experience in senior project management, technical consulting, account management and engineering roles within the information technology and telecommunications industries. He has worked for companies such as Honeywell Inc. and Telstra Corporation.
