PROCESS management software, instrumentation, data logging equipment and measurement devices will be exhibited at Pacex, the process and control exhibition, which forms part of National Manufacturing Week (NMW 2005).
Pacex exhibitors at NMW 2005, which takes place at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre from 10-13 May, include the following:
S.I. INSTRUMENTS will feature its Elektro Physik range of measuring instruments, designed to measure coating and wall thickness, roughness and pinhole detection. The company will also display material testers and force/torque measuring equipment. Here data can be graphically interpreted, replayed, assessed against pass/fail criteria, compiled into batch reports and exported.
NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS AUSTRALIA will feature LabView, Compact FieldPoint, CompactRio and the M Series next generation Data Acquisition (DAQ). The LabView graphical development environment suits test, measurement and control applications. Compact FieldPoint is a programmable automation controller that offers the flexibility and ease of use of a PC and the reliability of a PLC. CompactRio is an embedded control and acquisition system powered by NI reconfigurable I/O (Rio) technology. Eliminating the need to know specialised hardware design languages such as VHDL, users can build embedded control or acquisition systems that rival custom-designed hardware circuitry. The M series DAQ products are based on the newly designed NI-STC 2 system controller chip and NI-PGIA 2 amplifier technology. They offer breakthroughs in accuracy as well as faster sampling rates, more I/O channels and features previously not available in multifunction DAQ devices.
INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGIES, a division of Biolab, supplies products for applications such as materials sciences, infrared thermography, environmental simulation, colour measurement, air flow technology, vacuum systems and instrument servicing. At NMW 2005, the company will announce its partnership with Ceast, which provides testing products to the plastics manufacturing market.
DATATAKER will feature several new products with demonstrations planned of a dataTaker instrument driver for LabView, the new dataTaker SMSX modem and the new dataTaker DT8 battery operated eight channel data logger. The dataTaker instrument driver provides a library of VIs allowing the dataTaker DT50, 500, 600 and DT800 range of data loggers to be configured and queried from LabView. The SMSX modem is a dual band GSM/GPRS data modem, designed to allow users to keep in touch with remote sites without using a computer. The dataTaker DT8 is able to sample, process and display measurements without connection to a computer. The graphic display and analysis functions allow the user to view data collected from voltage, current, temperature and user defined inputs.
MACNAUGHT will demonstrate its M-Series range of positive displacement flow meters. The range utilises the oval gear principle and is available in a variety of construction materials and port sizes. Ancillary accessories including mechanical and electronic displays are also available.
NMW 2005 will feature more than 250 exhibiting companies including representation from New Zealand, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Vietnam and the US. www.nmw.reedexhibitions.com.au
