KWIKFLO oil water coalescing plate separators are a pre-treatment device designed to separate free oils and solids from a waste stream so it can meet Sydney Water’s sewer admission levels.
All Pumps Sales & Service recently supplied a Kwikflo separator—maximum flowrate 1000 litres/hr—to the waterfront location of P&O Ports Engineering at White Bay.
In a bunded area where forklifts and heavy machinery are washed down, run-off first goes into a Fox first flush diversion system. This is diverted into a storage tank underground and then pumped up to the separator by means of a non-emulsifying diaphragm pump.
Accumulated oil is removed as per the instruction manual supplied with all Kwikflo separators.
The only maintenance required is regular cleaning of the plate pack with hot water. Correct installation and routine maintenance ensures that the Kwikflo separator runs at maximum efficiency.
