ADCA member JRC International has announced a number of new products to make data capture easier, faster and more accurate. Tough and durable, the new products include:
· The new Cipherlab CE1000 CCD scanner;
· The 1300 handheld linear image scanner;
· The CPT-711; and
· Kwik-Bar barcoding software.
The Cipherlab CE1000 is the most aggressive contact scanner on the market today. Aimed at retail and library applications the CE1000 is ergonomically designed enabling easy operation.
It is able to scan multiple barcode types and can be used to edit data scanned before transmission to the PC.
The 1300 handheld linear image scanner series is a rugged scanner aimed at heavy-duty scanner users. It is ideal for warehouse and distribution and anywhere where durability and strength are required.
The 1300 scanner series was designed to be flexible and field upgradeable. There are six models available to cater for specific requirements.
The scanner can also be used as a portable data collector with data storage capabilities or RF interface for a use in a wireless environment.
The 1300 is capable of withstanding multiple drops on concrete from 1.8 metres. It provides advanced data capture and decoding and excellent performance at a competitive price.
Using its own in-house developed optics and electronics, CipherLab has produced a high-speed scanner which is fast and accurate and has a Scanning range comparable to laser scanners. The memory scanners utilise lightweight rechargeable battery packs that offer long battery life without sacrificing the overall weight of the scanner. CipherLab also provides a battery conditioner / charger.
The CPT-711, designed for everyday use, comes with an economic price tag. A simple and easy to use program generator makes light work of creating a data collection program to suit specific needs.
The unit can be supplied with long range CCD or laser barcode scanning. Easy data transfer with keyboard wedge download, infra-red, direct connect cable and cradle communication options available.
The CPT-711 is suitable for inventory control, work-in-process tracking, shop floor management, asset tracking, meter reading, warehousing and distribution operations, roll marking in schools, time and attendance projects and field data collection.
Kwik- Bar is a multi component software package specifically developed for the production and printing of barcodes. Based around barcode True Type fonts and 32 bit barcode DLLs, Kwik-Bar also doubles as an introductory tutorial package that explains the fundamentals of various barcode symbologies.
Kwik-Bar and its barcode component suite is supplied as a fully installable package for the 32 bit Windows operating system environment including Windows NT 4.0 and higher. In accordance with good installation practice a complete un-install option is also provided.
Once a barcode has been created using Kwik-Bar's entry screen it can be copied to the clipboard as a text field (most accurate), metafile (acceptable) or bitmap (not recommended for general printing) for pasting into other applications (eg. MS Word etc.)
Kwik-Bar also employs a "Hot Key" feature that allows barcodes to be created from another application, details are provided in the accompanying help file.
