MasTec International has announced the creation of two new companies: Ultimate Power Systems and MasTec Instrumentation, both based in Auckland, New Zealand. The companies will begin trading on August 1.
Ultimate Power Systems (UPS Ltd), which has a large share of the NZ, Australian and Pacific power market in ac and dc systems, will continue to focus on these systems. It has an installed base of over 30,000 power systems in NZ and represents many leading brands such as Power Kinetics, TrippLite, Sterling, Panasonic and Panamax, Rose Electronics, Optima and Panasonic Batteries.
MasTec Instrumentation, which recently purchased process control and quality control company Smartworks, will focus on instrumentation and automation. It has over 3500 automation, test and measurement hardware sites in NZ.
