RED Hat, a leading provider of open source solutions, has the signed systems integrator MAX-SI as a Red Hat business partner.
MAX-SI will be formalising its Linux capability into a fully serviced Red Hat Practice which reflects the growth potential for Red Hat in the Queensland IT market.
According to Duncan Unwin, principal of MAX-SI, many people are recognising the value Linux and open source deliver to their organisations and this has been evident in the Queensland market.
"We are especially seeing demand in manufacturing and distribution, government and education, and being able to offer a comprehensive Red Hat service is highly sought after," Mr Unwin said.
By developing the Red Hat partnership, Mr Unwin and his team are dedicated to spreading the use of Linux into the corporate arena. In particular, MAX-SI has been involved in supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux in mission critical environments such as running ERP, telephony systems and e-commerce infrastructure.
Together with partners like MAX-SI, Red Hat will bring the benefits of open source computing into an enterprise environment where cost-effective performance is at its most critical.
MAX-SI is a Queensland-based IT consultancy that specialises in supply chain, logistics, warehouse and distribution solutions as well as financial, accounting and complex transaction systems.
