QUEENSLAND crane companies Lindores Cranes and Rigging Pty Ltd and Lindores Rigging (Gold Coast) Pty Ltd are joining forces to create a new enlarged group with a combined asset base of $24 million and market presence throughout Australia and South East Asia.
The merged group—to be known as LCR Lindores Group—will be based in Brisbane, own more than 100 mobile and tower cranes, and employ 280 people. It is expected to have an annual turnover of $40 million.
Lindores Cranes and Rigging was started in Brisbane by Peter Lindores with only a handful of cranes in 1985. His brother, Greg Lindores, established Lindores Rigging (Gold Coast) in the same year. The two businesses have been run separately, but both have enjoyed strong growth.
Peter Lindores said the decision to merge the two businesses was taken to maximise synergies and present a strong, united family presence to the market.
“We aim to use our synergies to better utilise staff and resources and to drive the business forward with improved technology,” he said.
Lindores has worked on some of Australia’s biggest construction projects, including the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, recent extensions to the Royal Brisbane Hospital, the Docklands site in Melbourne and Angel Place in Sydney’s CBD.
The merged group will operate from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. The company will also undertake work throughout South East Asia and has its sights set on expanding into America and Europe
Lindores provides services to the construction, civil engineering, maritime, petrochemical, telecommunications, mining, manufacturing and energy industries.
Lindores said the merged group will focus on delivering a “one-stop-shop” for clients of all sizes, from managing materials handling to assembling, lifting, risk management and site management procedures.
