Further high grade gold intersections (including 2m at 71.9g/t gold) have been obtained from the latest reverse circulation drilling from the Baldock Shoot within the Southern Dave lode area at Hamill Resources Ltd’s Mount Ida project.
The short (12 hole) program was aimed at providing further information on the geometry of the high grade gold mineralisation within the Southern Dave lode and testing of possible depth extensions of the Whinnen shoot.
The results confirm the presence of high grade mineralisation at depth at Baldock, according to Hamill Resources. Diamond core drilling in conjunction with a regional structural study is highlighting the structural controls on gold mineralisation in the district and will greatly aid future exploration in the area.
Hamill Resources has advanced the development of the Whinnen shoot as the mining contractor has commenced mobilising infrastructure to site and dewatering and development drilling has been completed. The company anticipates that the cash flow from this mining operation will commence in July 2002. This cash flow will support the aggressive exploration of both targets within the Timoni minefield as well as regional targets within the 480 sq km Mt Ida project.
