ABAS Business Software, available from , consists of two components, ABAS ERP and ABAS eB.
The software’s Version 2003 offers a wider range of functionality and improved features compared with earlier versions.
ABAS ERP is an ERP standard software that helps companies optimises business processes while ABAS eB is an integrated eBusiness module that is compatible with a variety of Internet applications.
The software’s infosystems, interfaces, basic technologies and administration features have been improved when compared with earlier versions, as has the design of the graphical user interface. Financial and fixed asset accounting, cost accounting, materials status evaluation, EDI and eBusiness functions have also been improved.
Infosystems is a tailor-made navigation platform designed to handle business processes and analyses. Multiple options are available for linking dialogue screens and carrying out analyses.
The CRM functions available with the customer infosystem simplify customer support. All sales relevant information along with about sales processes, projects and activities is entered in the customer infosystem.
Emails can be sent, websites called up and sales related infosystems and analysis options accessed using the CRM functions in ABAS ERP.
ABAS Business Software can be used with Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems.
The ABAS Linux client’s graphical user interface (GUI) starts more quickly than the GUI in earlier versions. A larger number of screens can be opened simultaneously (around three times as many as under MS Windows). The new version also allows screens to open and tables to load twice as quickly as with earlier versions.
ABAS Business Software porting took place under Linux. The software can run under all Linux 64 bit distributions.
The new version of ABAS ERP is also available for Intel Itanium 2 Processor, providing a scaleable and cost efficient platform with good performance.
Also new in Version 2003 is the connection of the ABAS Business Software to Open Office.org. Data in the ABAS ERP infosystems can be output in Open Office.org calc. The output is as simple and fast as an output to MS Excel.
The system also features an ERP Web Interface. Customers, suppliers and employees have controlled access to ERP data via the browser interface. The web interface allows orders to be transferred instantly into the system via a low maintenance webshop which is fed from ERP data.
Other suitable supply chain management applications for the system include: order tracking; stock level monitoring by suppliers; dealer infosystems; and external sales order entries made by sales partners.
ABAS ERP is suitable for sales, sales order processing, shipping, purchasing, purchase orders, warehouse management, scheduling, logistics, materials management/MRP, production/PPC, accounting, fixed asset accounting, cost accounting, controlling and eBusiness.
The group accounting section of the ABAS Business Software allows internal group reporting and reporting across groups.
Corridor Controlling, the system’s controlling function, can be set up quickly and is easy to use. The controlling tool offers a brief overview of leading business indicators. It is suited to use in medium sized companies.
