Streaming high fidelity digital music files to your stereo over wireless or Internet access is easy with the Squeezebox2 digital media player. Thanks to a high-performance 24-bit DAC, the audio output on Squeezebox2 has a signal-to-noise ratio of over 100 dB and total harmonic distortion of less than 0.003 percent. The unit reads a number of lossless, uncompressed, and compressed audio formats including Apple Lossless, WAV, and Compressed MP3. Connection options include a 100 MbPS wired Ethernet interface or IEEE 802.11g wireless. To get these features, the Squeezebox2 uses a 250 MHz 8-way multithreaded RISC processor and a Xilinx Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD), the CoolRunner-II, for field upgradeability.
