Phihong has announced it will offer custom backlight inverters for flat panel display applications. The company will manufacture the DC/AC power supplies that drive the cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) in LCD backlighting applications to support displays as small as 2? and up to 37?. Phihong’s custom backlight inverters can power from just one bulb up to 16 and offer output power from 3W to 120W, so they are appropriate for applications as diverse as LCD TV, gaming, medical, industrial, and kiosk. Dimming, low power standby and high peak functionality are all available in customized packages.
