The Victorian Government has invited interested parties to apply for 31 exploration permits to find Victoria's geothermal energy resources.

By using geothermal energy it is possible to produce electricity with virtually no greenhouse gas emissions, according to Minister for Energy Industries and Resources Theo Theophanous.
