The 2955 Hipot testers are a range of cost-effective 5 KV, 12 mA, AC Hipot testers that allows the user to quickly and conveniently perform AC Hipot tests.
Hipot testing is also known as the dielectric withstand testing or flash testing. The test is used to stress the insulation of a product beyond what it would encounter during normal operation.
During the test high voltage is applied from the mains input lines to the chassis of the product for a specified length of time to check the integrity of the insulation by monitoring the resulting leakage current.
A Hipot test is employed in a variety of areas including production lines, repair workshops as well as research and development labs. The test is ideal for detecting production and quality errors, design problems as well as component spacing issues.
