USA based company, Ideal Industries which is represented in Australia by TRIO Test & Measurement, has released new industrial grade versions of its award winning True RMS TightSight clamp meters.
These new clamp meters are designed for demanding users in heavy workload scenarios where accuracy, reliability and durability are not only vital, but mandatory.
The TightSight clamp meter is ergonomically engineered and features a unique additional display at the base of the meter for safe reading in hard to reach locations. This unique feature allows electricians to keep their head and face out of potentially dangerous confined panels while viewing the measurement.
Measurement performance is improved over standard clamp meters through the High Frequency Rejection (HFR) function, which assures accuracy and stability when measuring in noisy electrical environments or with complex waveforms, such as adjustable speed drives.
The TightSight clamp meter features slim tapered jaws with a “hook tip” to facilitate reaching into crowded cable bundles. The hardened case and switch construction withstand heavy duty commercial and industrial usage.
The new TightSight clamp meter is available in four versions; 660A with or without DC current measurement, and 1000A with or without DC current measurement. Each clamp meter is ergonomically engineered for single handed operation even when the user is wearing gloves.
Additional features of these clamp meters include:
- CAT IV 600V rating
- min/max recording
- Peak hold (inrush)
- Audible continuity; and
- Auto power off.
Finally, through firmware calibration, cost of ownership and the ability to maintain accuracy is greatly improved because these new clamp meters contain no variable potentiometers or capacitors.
Ideal's TightSight clamp meter is available directly from TRIO Test & Measurement and can be supplied with a calibration certificate from TRIO Test & Measurement's own NATA accredited repair and calibration laboratory.
