TESTO has developed a compact, electronic 265 handheld tester that is suitable for measuring cooking oil on a daily basis.

The instrument contains a sensor that can be immersed directly into the hot cooking oil. After only 30 seconds, the instrument displays the quality of the cooking oil and its temperature.

The tester measures the Total Polar Materials (TPM) of the cooking oil. The higher the TPM, the older the oil. Generally, cooking oil is used when greater than 24% polar components exist. Note: TPM is measured at a range of 0 to 40% and an accuracy of ±2%.

The product is made user-friendly for kitchen personnel as two limits can be set. A coloured light signals when these limits have been exceeded. Each light denotes the life of the oil. In this way, anyone can measure cooking oil quality quickly and efficiently.

The testo 265 can measure any standard cooking oil with no requirement for adaptation or cooling between tests. The instrument can be easily cleaned, and its detachable TopSafe protective case is both heat resistant and dish-washable.

The product can measure cooking oils in the range of +40 to +200°C due to its built in temperature compensation function.
