Seco Tools Australia has introduced a new insert mounting system to its Square T4-08 Helical milling cutter line to boost cutter strength and stability. Seco’s expanded product line now includes the innovative insert mounting system for specially designed inserts with four cutting edge capabilities, and a new MS2050 insert grade.

Square T4-08 Helical milling cutters are designed for 2D directional contour milling applications, excelling in machining challenging materials such as cast iron, steel and stainless steel. The milling cutter’s strong, reliable pocket seats combined with multi-edge inserts optimise cutting stability and allow for clean 90-degree walls. Since the inserts mount tangentially in the cutter, the cutting forces impact the thickest parts of the inserts, allowing manufacturers to achieve the required levels of strength for increased depths of cut with small diameters.

Key features and benefits of Square T4-08 Helical milling cutters include high metal removal rates and cost-effective operations; variations such as normal pitch for slotting and contouring operations and close pitch for contouring only, increasing versatility; multiple mounting types including Seco-Capto, Weldon, Arbor and Combimaster heads; cutting diameters ranging from 25mm to 54mm and depths of cut between 22mm and 64mm; corner radii from 0.4mm to 1.6mm; and integrated through-coolant channels providing extended tool life.

Square T4-08 Helical milling cutters are available in M08 and MD08 insert geometries, and four grades including the new MS2050, which joins the MP3000, MK2050 and F40M options.
