Rotork announces the acquisition of Masso Ind s.p.a., an established Italian manufacturer of innovative shipboard valve remote control systems (VRCS). The acquisition will strengthen Rotork’s presence in global marine and offshore markets with a wider range of flow control products and services.

Designed for critical safety applications, Masso VRCS solutions encompass hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems that are compatible with most integrated automation systems (IAS). The Masso product range also includes hydraulic quarter-turn and linear actuators, hydraulic power packs, solenoid cabinets and electro-hydraulic actuators for shipboard applications.

The Valduggia, Italy company comes with over 80 years of marine industry experience encompassing chemical and cargo vessels, cruise ships, ferries, offshore support and navy vessels. The company supplies its products to world-leading shipbuilding groups such as Fincantieri and the Meyer Werft Group.

Following the acquisition, Masso will become part of the Rotork Fluid Systems division, where its products will join the existing ranges of fluid power flow control equipment serving the oil and gas, power generation, marine and manufacturing industries.

Rotork Group Chief Executive Peter France explained that Masso’s acquisition was aligned with their strategy of strengthening presence in the global flow control market and broadening the scope of the Group’s activities within the marine and offshore markets.
