A mini conveyor system was recently hired from Kennards Lift & Shift to make easy work of moving over 50 cubic metres of soil and rock up a steep property on the Sydney's harbour.

Building contractor, I BLD, set the mini conveyor system up by comprising three linked units. The system was then used to successfully carry spoil from the excavation for a new 21,500 litre concrete swimming pool. The pool project was to complete the major renovation and refurbishment of a house which overlooks Sydney Harbour.

Situated on the water’s edge at the bottom of a very steep incline, George Akkary, of I BLD, said moving the rock and dirt for the pool originally posed a challenge, however when weighing up his options, the conveyor system seemed the easiest.

“It turned out great, with the guys loading it up at the bottom and the conveyor taking it to the top and dumping it straight into a bin,” said Akkary.

Kennards Lift & Shift mini conveyors were ideal for this project due to their range of features, including:

  • 240V powered
  • light aluminium frame
  • highly durable and sturdy
  • attached wheels for ease of mobility.

Kennards Lift & Shift have hire centres in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Wollongong, and a new store about to open in Brisbane.
