Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift & Shift sought an efficient solution from equipment hire specialist Kennards Hire Lift & Shift to lift and place 39 concrete girders at a roadway project site.

The multi-million dollar project involves the construction of a new four-lane road called the Outer Circulating Road to help traffic circumvent the Toowoomba CBD, and also includes a major three-span bridge over the West and East creeks.

Leading cranes and heavy haulage company Tutt Bryant was contracted to transport and install 39 concrete girders for the roadway. The company hired a new modular 300 tonne spreader beam from Kennards Hire Lift & Shift to lift and put the girders in place.

The spreader beam is the newest addition to the extensive range of bars and beams available for hire from Kennards Hire Lift & Shift in a 250kg to 300 tonne range. The spreader beam has a maximum width of 26 metres and weighs 6,600kg when fully assembled, excluding shackles or rigging gear.

Tutt Bryant Queensland State Manager Trevor Haylott stated that the modular design of the 300 tonne spreader beam from Kennards Hire Lift & Shift provided great flexibility, enabling them to reduce the length as needed and tailor it to each individual girder.

This versatility makes the 300 tonne spreader beam from Kennards Hire Lift & Shift ideally suited to a range of lifting requirements in diverse industries including mining and oil and gas as well as major civil construction and infrastructure developments and shipping ports.
