Kennard Hire's first branch in WA opened in 2000 in the suburb of Cannington. 16 years on, they have 17 branches to make their customers job easy.

The Cannington Branch has recently undergone a major refurbishment, and is now open for business.

Since the end of the mining boom, WA has seen a downturn in the economy. Tony Symons, General Manager of Kennards Hire in WA says that the key to maintaining growth during difficult times is to invest in your people and in your assets.

"There's a lot of talk in WA about how tough the job market has been of late," Tony said.

"Because Kennards Hire is constantly growing as a business, we have more and more positions opening up. Our hiring philosophy is that we have great people applying, we will find a job for them."

The refurbishment of the Cannington branch is just one example of Kennards Hire's willingness to invest in themselves. New tools and machinery are arriving at branches across the country every week, and staff are constantly offered the chance to achieve accreditations and training in new areas.

"As a business, there's also a lot to be said for being an active and contributing part of your community," Tony continued.

"Each year in WA we support the Constable Care Child Safety Foundation as part of the national Kennards for Kids campaign, which runs throughout every September and October. In 2015, Kennards Hire was thrilled to donate over $40,000 to Constable Care. We do this because we understand that we play an important role in our community. We look after customers and they look after us." Tony concluded.
