Specialist equipment hire company Kennards Lift & Shift has supplied a compact-sized wheelie bin lifter for use at Hansen Yuncken’s $41-million Adelaide Film & Screen Centre project.

The 240-volt, hydraulic-powered wheelie bin lifter is designed to empty 120-litre and 250-litre bins directly into a truck or skip.

David Lynch, safety manager on the Hansen Yuncken site said it was easier and quicker to dispose of rubbish in wheelie bins close to where work was taking place, rather than continually having to take it to a skip positioned some distance away.

They were earlier using a forklift for the job but it was not suitable for rough ground.

He comments that filled-up bins are easier to empty using the wheelie bin lifter, making their lives so much easier.

The Adelaide Film & Screen Centre work is one of two projects, with a total value of more than $150 million being undertaken by Hansen Yuncken in the Glenside Hospital precinct.

Kennards Lift & Shift operates hire centres in Brisbane, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth supplying various lifting devices including wheelie bin lifters for hire.
