Kennards Hire supplied five 6-metre conveyor belts to remove 110m³ of rock from a 600m² manmade lake at a waterfront apartment complex.

According to Dennis Lawler, Operations Manager of the Maintenance Department for Digit Landscapes, an algae problem led to the need to drain the lake and remove the rock, which ranged from 100mm to 30mm aggregate. Digit Landscapes is a commercial landscape construction company that works across commercial properties, public spaces and residential estates.

A flexdrive pump from Kennards Hire was used to empty the lake and the conveyors were set up to reach the far side. Once an area was cleared it took only four men to pick up a unit and move it to a new location.

A conveyor was secured to a trestle so it could dump the rock directly into a two-tonne tipper truck, also from Kennards Hire. Dennis commented that Digit Landscapes hired a lot of products from Kennards on various projects, and appreciated their great service and pricing.

Kennards Lift & Shift offers a range of portable conveyors including 3.0-metre and 6.0-metre units. The units are compact and can be assembled in as little as 15 minutes without specialised equipment or tools.
