Queensland based label printing services specialist, insignia has added additional capacity at its Melbourne plant with the installation of yet another Mark Andy 2200 flexo press supplied and installed by Aldus Engineering.

The new press is the second Mark Andy flexo press installed at insignia’s new Knoxfield factory. Aldus has also supplied and installed turret rewinders, a Rotoflex die cutter and a Rotoflex Slitter rewinder at the plant.

The latest Mark Andy 2200 flexo press is fully equipped with GEW UV and hot air drying, roll loader, Harper anilox rolls, web turn bar, delam/relam unit to enable front and back printing as well as increase press speed from 150 to 228mpm. The press also comes with the latest Trucolor video camera unit.

Howard Gill, Operations Manager at the plant comments that the new press is the 8th Mark Andy (and the third new press in 18 months) installed in the insignia operation.
Press reliability and consistency were key factors in the selection in addition to the support provided by Aldus Engineering.
