The PN pressure sensor from ifm efector has won two prestigious international design awards – the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award. The iF award ceremony took place at BMW Welt in Munich in February this year while the official presentation of the Red Dot Design Award took place at Zeche Zollverein in June.

The PN pressure sensor won the Red Dot Design Award, competing against 4,928 entries from 56 countries.

The latest generation of a very popular ifm sensor range, the PN pressure sensor incorporates several new features along with a few existing functions.

Key features of PN pressure sensors include black sensor head with distinctive orange ring on the sensor; LEDs on the side for switch point indication now clearly visible from long distances and the rear; LEDs for the units of measurement positioned outside the display; and larger 2-colour display facilitating better readability for more accuracy.

Designed for simple operation, the pressure sensor features three pushbuttons with integrated symbols that can be activated either with a tool or finger, allowing easy sensor setting, while the 345-degree rotation for the sensor allows users to save time when aligning the sensor unit.

Linda Schmidt, Group Manager - ifm Product Design explained that the improved range of pressure sensors was a team effort, with their better performance receiving positive feedback from customers as well as global recognition through the product design awards.
