RF identification system for production control from ifm efector is an industrially compatible identification system.

The identification system allows coding of workpiece carriers in routing conveyors.

The RFID is quick and easy to set-up, compact and has a good performance ratio. Another advantage of the RFID from ifm is that the antenna and evaluation are located within a single housing.

The constant increase in the degree of automation in modern production plants is being supported more and more by identification systems. Their tasks include for example the control or release of production steps or the assignment of information about each product.

The ID tags are mounted on the objects to be identified (tanks, goods, or workpiece carriers). When they come into the detection range of the read/write heads (read/write module), the information is read at up to 0.5 m/s.

The distance to the read/write head can be up to 20 mm. The data transfer is controlled by the AS-I control level (master, controller, gateway host). The read/ write head is operated as an analogue slave according to 7.4 in the AS-I network, which means that up to 31 slaves can be controlled by one master.

The transmission of energy between the passive ID tag and the read/write head is based on the physical principle of inductive coupling with a frequency of 125 Hz.

DTA100 is a compact and easy alternative for applications in which for example optical identification is not possible due to the ambient conditions.

DTA100 allows reading and writing of code carriers (ID tags), benefiting from the advantages of AS-interface.

DTA100 can even be integrated into existing AS-i networks and is immediately ready for operation; with special parameter setting software is not required.
