Genie Australia has added a new telescopic boom lift to its Super Boom product family. The new Genie SX-150 telescopic boom lift provides industry-leading capacity through the full working envelope, and assures excellent productivity, reliability and serviceability in challenging worksites.

The new SX-150 boom lift is recommended for construction, maintenance, telecommunications, gas and oil refineries, chemical maintenance, and large utility applications.

Brad Lawrence, General Manager Australia, Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) explains that the new SX-150 boom lift addresses customer needs by delivering the promise of durability in challenging environments. He adds that the new telescopic boom lift is a cost-effective choice for challenging jobsite applications while meeting the customer’s expectations for quality and reliability.

Key features of Genie’s SX-150 telescopic boom lifts include ability to reach full platform height of 46.33m in less than three minutes; four programmable height settings of 45.72m, 41.15m, 36.58m and 30.48m for rental versatility; 3.05m horizontal and vertical rotating jib allowing for quick local repositioning of the platform; horizontal outreach of 24.38m, with 21.34m outreach at 36.58m of platform height; unrestricted range of motion with a lift capacity of 340kg for a maximum of two people; standard 7.5 kW on-board generator powering tools; 22,997kg weight with a tail swing (axles extended) of 1.07m and ground clearance of 0.38m; and easy transportability on a standard trailer with no over-size permits required.

The Super Boom SX-150 uses a field-proven chassis design identical to the SX-180 and ZX-135 boom lifts. The telescopic boom lifts also feature external sensors and manifolds protected under steel covers; a Deutz Tier 4 interim engine; and a rotating jib worm drive reducing backlash while increasing reliability and offering 60 degrees of horizontal motion for increased working area. The SX-150 boom lift contains hydraulic hard lines wherever possible to increase durability while a hydraulic filtration system ensures cleanliness.

Lawrence adds that Genie products are designed for easy serviceability with all manifolds offering simple wrench access while a swing out engine tray provides easy service or maintenance access. The boom features easy-to-reach hydraulic filters, with a drop-in return filter for easy cleaning and replacement; bulkhead-mount hydraulic lines allowing hoses to be removed and replaced in one piece; and a cylinder and wire rope cartridge in the boom extend system for fast service or replacement.

The Genie SX-150 boom lift will be available in Australia Q1 2016.
