freedom9 has announced support for 1 Terabyte storage hard drives for the freeStor 4020 4-bay NAS, increasing the total storage capacity to 4 Terabytes.
The addition of this feature make the freeStor 4020 network attached storage unit ideal for school administration, medium-sized business storage server and a host of other storage server applications.
The freeStor 4020 connects to a network and can function as a network storage device. To make administration easy, the freeStor 4020 includes support for Microsoft's active directory.
This NAS also includes four hot-swappable SATA drive bays, Gigabit networking port and a built-in DHCP server. To ensure data integrity, the freeStor 4020 supports RAID 0, 1, 10 and 5 with a hot-spare.
Further, the freeStor 4020 also serves as a backup appliance for computers on the network.
The freeStor 4020 along with included DSE software support full system backup and baremetal recovery.
Unlike traditional NAS products with a limited file sharing service, the freeStor 4020 delivers an all-in-one appliance that can manage data, files and backup systems over the network concurrently.
