Enerpac announces the release of a brand new electric torque wrench in the Australian market, designed to improve bolting efficiency and performance. Recommended for industries requiring high repetition and precision such as mining and energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, power generation, and petrochemical and processing plants, the new electric torque wrench is available in maximum torque capacities from 1625Nm to 8135Nm (1200-6000 ft-lbs).

Featuring the advanced SMART safety and efficiency technology based on Enerpac’s 50 years of experience as an industry leader in bolting solutions, the new electric torque wrenches are fully backed by Enerpac’s extensive service and distribution network throughout Australasia and New Zealand to facilitate optimum reliability and safety compliance.

The electric torque wrench complements Enerpac’s pneumatic torque wrench and comprehensive range of hydraulic torque wrenches and bolting tools, valued by companies seeking time-saving choice, consistency of quality and traceability of outcomes.

Key advances incorporated into the design of the new Enerpac electric torque wrench include a large 7-inch touchscreen on the control box; a bright 3-line LED display on the back of the tool for easy reading even in bright sunlight; control box designed to simplify complex jobs through the creation of automatic presets; and ability to view fastening records on-screen and transfer through a standard USB connection.

The electric torque wrench has a high speed continuous rotation, which allows it to perform the job faster than manual methods. A low friction planetary gearbox minimises wear and extends uptime. The user can enter a nominal torque value followed by a specific angle of rotation, allowing for functionality, efficiency and ease-of-use.

Describing the new electric torque wrench as highly versatile, Enerpac Bolting Product Manager, Mr Andrew Marsh says they have a full range of sockets and extensions to suit different applications, and can even supply non-standard versions on request to suit special applications.

According to Mr Marsh, the LED display on the back of the tool is excellent for minimising downtime as it has pass/fail indicators, increase/decrease selection buttons for torque, and direction turn selection and indicators, allowing the user to monitor and manage the fastening process without returning to the control box.

Mr Marsh comments that the new tool has been designed with efficiency and reliability as key considerations, adding that each tool is performance tested and shipped with a factory calibration certificate to optimise torque accuracy and repeatability as well as to facilitate traceability and safety compliance. Enerpac also provides free training sessions on safe and effective use of the new tool.
