EXAIR's new 1000 Btu/hr cabinet cooler is a low cost way to eliminate electronic control downtime that can result from high temperatures, dirt and moisture.

Available from CompressAir Technologies , this compact air conditioner has the capacity to stabilise the temperature inside medium sized enclosures.

The 1000 Btu/hr cooler uses a vortex tube to cool an ordinary supply of compressed air to -7°C (20°F). A cold air distribution kit circulates the air through the enclosure while providing a constant purge to keep the panel free of dust and contaminants.

Compressed air use is only 15 SCFM which is half that of ordinary cabinet coolers. Systems include thermostat control to further minimise air usage, and a compressed air filter to keep the air clean and dry.

The cooler installs in minutes through a standard electrical knockout and is UL-listed to ensure the NEMA 12, 4 or 4X (stainless steel) rating of the enclosure is maintained.

Operation is quiet at 75dBA and there are no moving parts to wear out.

Other cabinet coolers with capacities up to 2800 Btu/hr are available. Applications include cooling computer cabinets, CNC panels, camera and laser housings, relay panels and motor control centres.
