Leading Australian air compressor and power generation company, Caps Australia has introduced the new Ingersoll Rand D5140 ½″ drill/driver to its cordless tools line.

According to John Bishop, Wholesale Product Manager for CAPS Australia, the new drill/driver offers the same durability and high-power performance as other Ingersoll Rand IQV20 series products, in addition to having the versatility to switch between the drilling and fastening functions in seconds.

Bishop explains the Ingersoll Rand D5140 is engineered to stand up to harsh operating conditions required by Australian technicians. Its robust construction includes features such as the all-metal, single-sleeved locking and ratcheting chuck with carbide inserts to keep the bit from deforming the drill/driver during tough applications, and a moulded housing case that completely protects the tool from breaking while also protecting it from corrosive fluids and chemicals commonly found in automotive and industrial environments. The metal chuck makes it easy for technicians to maintain firm, positive bit retention and enables users to operate the tool with one hand.

Supplied with a 16 position clutch, the D5140 cordless drill/driver gives users more control over drilling and fastening applications. The clutch enables the operator to apply the right speed and pressure to complete tasks without damaging surface areas, allowing the use of the tool on any material including metal, wood or plastic.

Featuring a user-friendly ergonomic design and patent-pending overmould grip to minimise vibration and reduce operator fatigue, the cordless D5140 drill helps technicians complete service and repair jobs faster because they are free from air lines, and can drill and fasten bolts without switching tools. The tool is powerful enough to drill out a broken bolt but has the precision control to fasten a license plate on a car without damaging it.

The IR 5140 is a further addition to the extensive cordless drills range introduced by CAPS to the local Australian marketplace in recent months.
