Founded in 2002 in Melbourne, Bestech Australia is now one of the fastest growing companies in Australia and New Zealand. In the video below Ferret.com.au talks with the team from Bestech about the full range of products and services the company offers before looking at two innovative products in more detail.

Bestech Australia distributes and manufactures a wide range of sensors, transducers, signal conditioners and test systems for the measurement of physical parameters such as:

  • leak
  • displacement
  • tilt
  • pressure
  • temperature
  • strain
  • force
  • torque
  • vibration
  • viscosity
  • level
  • flow
  • material properties; and
  • thermal analysis.
In addition to supplying these state of the art instruments, Bestech provides quality customer service. The company has well trained engineers on hand to provide advice and guidance on specific applications and products selection. Full support including repair, maintenance and calibration is also provided.

In the embedded video, Bestech Applications Engineer Arend Wieringa discusses the thermoIMAGER TIM range of thermal imaging cameras from Micro-Epsilon. These cameras are designed for condition monitoring in machinery and the medical industry or process monitoring in manufacturing.

Powered from just one USB cable, these thermal imagers are truly plug and play. Models are available with different classes of performance to suit different applications.

Product Specialist Dan Isbister introduces the Sealtick TSE 6086b package integrity tester. This leak tester for flexible packaging is designed to detect if food and pharmaceutical packages are correctly sealed. It uses a vacuum method to measure the gas leakage for a wide range of flexible pack types and sizes.

To use the tester, items are placed manually and the handle is closed to initiate a fully automatic test sequence. Results are displayed as a Pass or Fail, along with a quantitative measure of the leakage rate. The test is fast - as short as 3 seconds - objective, easy to perform and reliable.

The TSE 6086b package leak tester can be used for a variety of products including:

  • MAP packs
  • salads
  • biscuits
  • milk powder
  • medical bandages; and
  • pharmaceuticals.
Tests performed by the device do not stress the package, are dry and non-destructive.
