The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) Victorian Branch, in conjunction with APPITA will be holding a technical dinner on Wednesday the 3rd of August at the Box Hill Golf Club with speakers from 10 Thousand Trees and Network Marketing.

Founder of 10 Thousand Trees, Ian Krawitz will provide an overview of the use of paper and paper products in Australia. Mr Krawitz will also introduce attendees to the 10 Thousand Trees program and how it benefits companies through sustainability.

10 Thousand Trees is an initiative to help make paper a sustainable resource and reduce the need for deforestation in the long term. The organisation plants trees as a crop here in Australia and supplies them back into the paper industry with the trees being harvested every 12 years. All proceeds from the harvested trees go into planting and managing more trees.

Projections show that this effectively doubles the number of trees every cycle and 10 trees planted today would give 10,000 trees in 120 years in addition to a great positive legacy.

John Brannan, Sales Manager - Printing Applications, Network Marketing will be presenting on Stone-Paper as an alternative to paper and synthetic plastic printing substrates as it has a lower environmental impact and energy footprint.

Made from calcium carbonate, Stone-Paper is 100% tree-free as well as tear-resistant, creates no water pollution and is easy to process and print.
