The Knick ProLine P50000 available from Alvi Technologies is a new range of high precision, high voltage transducers designed to meet the demands of railway applications.

Alvi’s new series of galvanic isolators, the ProLine 50000 is specifically developed for voltage and current measurement in the main and auxiliary power circuits of locomotives and multiple units. For instance, the transducers find use in short circuit detection or monitoring of traction motors and inverters, auxiliary inverters and accumulator batteries.

Compliant with all applicable railway standards, the ProLine P50000 transducers meet the high demands of fire protection [HL3 according to EN 45545-2 (2016)], electrical safety, mechanical robustness as well as insensitivity to extreme environmental conditions and electromagnetic interferences.

ProLine P50000 transducers stand out from conventional sensors used in railway vehicles thanks to features such as calibrated range selection and integrated universal power supply unit. The calibrated range selection feature allows different input ranges up to ±4200 V to be selected quickly and flexibly. After the switchover, the specified high accuracy (< 0.1% meas.val. + 0.1% f.s.) is maintained without readjustment.

The ProLine P50000 can be combined with a shunt resistor for precise current measurement up to the kA range.
